Our risk profile and capacity to meet our obligations continues to be recognized by foremost rating agencies across the World.

  • In 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, & 2008 Agusto & Co. (Nigeria's foremost Credit rating agency) assigned the Bank a triple A (Aaa) risk rating.
  • In 2005, Fitch, assigned the Bank a Foreign Currency Long Term IDR of B+ and a National Long-Term Rating of AA-(nga). The ratings reflect Guaranty Trust Bank plc's well established and growing franchise, strong earnings growth and adequate Tier 1 capital.
  • In 2006, Standard & Poor’s, assigned the Bank a double B minus (BB-) risk rating. This rating is the same as S & P's sovereign rating for Nigeria.
  • In 2008, Fitch, re-affirmed the Bank's Foreign Currency Long Term IDR of B+ and a National Long-Term Rating of AA-(nga). The ratings reflect Guaranty Trust Bank plc's well established and growing franchise, strong earnings growth and adequate Tier 1 capital.
  • In 2008, Standard & Poor’s re-affirmed the Bank's double B minus (BB-) risk rating which is the same as the Agency’s Sovereign rating for Nigeria.
  • The Bank's current rating from Agusto & Co is double A minus (AA-). This rating reflects Guaranty Trust Bank's very good financial condition and strong capacity to meets its obligations as and when they fall due.
