The Adopt-a-School programme is a Guaranty Trust Bank initiative aimed at improving child education across the country. The thrust of the project involves identifying, adopting, renovating and rehabilitating dilapidated public schools nationwide; thereby creating model institutions of learning for children. 

After adopting a school, the Bank undertakes the following to improve conditions of learning:

  • Building, renovation and general infrastructural repair
  • Provision of basic amenities such as water and electricity
  • Landscaping and environmental beautification
  • Supply of furniture, books and equipment
  • The Orange Brightest and Best e.g. Orange Quiz competition, Train-the teacher seminar,Orange Scholarship library education etc

Today the Bank has several schools under the programme spread across its geographical divisions, namely;

  • St. George's Girls' Primary School, Falomo, Lagos State
  • Baboko Community Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State
  • Government Day Secondary School, Bauchi, Bauchi State
  • Community Secondary School Nkpolu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State
  • Government Secondary School, Ringim, Jigawa State
  • Government Girls Secondary School, Gwaram, Jigawa State
  • Science Secondary School, Lautai Gumel, Jigawa State
  • Government Secondary School, Khadeejah, Jigawa State
  • Government Secondary School, Roni, Jigawa State
  • Suntulma Primary School, Kano State
  • Open Classroom Project, Kaduna State
