Requirements for a Video Call

  • Use a desktop or a Laptop computer with webcam (the platform does not support mobile devices)
  • Use a secure, strong and stable WIFI with minimum of 512mbps bandwidth. (Avoid calling with restricted network most especially schools or offices that are pegged with restrictions on video calls)
  • Recommended browsers are Google chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet explorer. (If you are calling with Macbook computer, Mac OSX, you will be prompted to install browser plug-in before connecting to the platform. Please close browser after installation before connecting on the platform)
  • Have a Headset or earpiece readily available.

Steps to Start a Video Call

  • Click on the Video Banking icon 
  • Use a desktop or a Laptop with webcam to start video call. When calling with a Macbook (macOSX) you may need to install an extension or plug-in to be able to connect 

N/B: Recommended browsers are Google chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet explorer (Mobile devices are not supported on the platform)

  • A network bandwidth check is run on your system to confirm that your network is strong enough to initiate a video call. (Avoid calling with restricted network most especially schools or offices that are pegged with restrictions on video calls)
  • Register your information after which you click on “start a call”
  • The platform will confirm an available agent (this could take a longer time if all agents are busy)

N/B: To enjoy a great call experience, the platform relies on good network connection or WIFI and a desktop or laptop computer with webcam.

  • If your video call was disconnected unexpectedly, this could be because you lost your internet connection. You will have to make a new call.
  • If you couldn’t see or hear the video call agent when your call was picked, it could be because of the following reasons;

- Poor or Restricted Network – Please call with a strong personal Wi-Fi (512mbps recommended). Avoid use of mobile hotspot and restricted networks (mostly offices or schools abroad) or use of VPN guarded network to call. 

- Use of Recommended Browsers – To enjoy a great call experience, please call with the recommended browsers such as; Google chrome, Firefox etc. If you are calling with a macbook, you may need to download a plug-in for your browser. Once plug-in has been installed, please close and re-open browser to connect on platform. 

- Avoid use of Phones/Ipads to Connect – We advise not to use mobile devices to connect on the platform. Please call with a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam and a headset or ear phone.         

- Incomplete Numeric Number - The country code selected has its specific minimum phone number. You will get this error only when the phone number digits are not complete or relates to the country code selected.
