The charge on Instant Transfers to other Nigerian Banks include N50.00 Commission + N2.50 VAT. For GTBank to GTBank Transfers, the charges on 737 include N20.00 + N2.50 while transfers on all other banking channels are free.

To recall a money transfer to another bank that you may have initiated in error, please follow the process below:

  • Make a request for recall of funds at any GTBank branch or by contacting GTCONNECT, our 24/7 customer care service.
  • Once your request is received, we will make a recall request to the bank of the beneficiary of your money transfer.
  • The bank of the beneficiary will return your money transfer within two (2) weeks if:
    • There is money in the beneficiary’s account
    • The beneficiary consents to the recall of the funds
  • In line with CBN regulation, once you receive a money transfer that was sent in error by another bank, the funds will be recalled automatically provided the sending bank makes the complaint within 14 days.
  • Where your account is not adequately funded when the complaints is received from the sending Bank:
    • CBN regulation mandates us, your bank, to notify you to fund your account within 7 days.
    • CBN Regulation also directs that customers who fail to fund their account within 7 days of being notified to do so will be watch listed and reported to either a Law Enforcement Agency, the Credit Bureau or both.
  • If you, our Customer, and the Sender know each other, we advise that you liaise with for an amicable settlement.
  • If you and the sender are not acquainted, or the sender states that he/she does not to know you:
    • CBN Regulation directs that having received a tenable claim from the sender through his/her Bank, the value of the disputed funds should be blocked on the account. Once this is done, we will seek your consent to return the funds to the sender.
  • If you decline to consent to the return of the funds to the sender:
    • CBN Regulation directs that Internal Auditors of both the sender and the receiver shall mediate between the both parties and their decision shall be final.
